In the WCHA’s only series-deciding contest at Berry Events Center, the second-seeded Wildcats scored three straight goals in the second period to turn a 2-1 deficit into a 4-2 lead, and they never looked back. Troy Loggins led NMU with two goals and two assists in the contest, while linemates Adam Rockwood (two assists) and Denver Pierce (two goals) each added two points.

Loggins scored the game-winner and his 20th goal of the season at 13:11. It was the second of four straight goals the Wildcats tallied to end the game. The teams traded goals in the opening frame, with Pierce giving the hosts a 1-0 lead at 2:45 and UAH’s Josh Kestner tying the score with his team-leading 24th of the year at 10:54.

UAH’s Max McHugh scored on the power play just 55 seconds into the second period before the Wildcats coasted to the victory from there. Slattery made it a 2-2 game at 6:41 before Loggins scored the first of his two goals to win the game.

Atte Tolvanen made 16 saves in net for NMU, which finished the regular season with 10 wins in 14 games to finish second in the WCHA. UAH’s Jordan Uhelski stopped 28.
