After RPI snapped its six-game losing streak with a 1-0 decision Saturday, Colton Point pitched Colgate’s first postseason shutout since 2012 ― and his sixth of the season to tie a program record ― with 23 saves, while Josh McKechney and Evan Tschumi scored the goals that lifted the Raiders to a quarterfinal series victory in ECAC Hockey play at Class of 1965 Arena.

Point faced just nine shots through two periods, but was called upon to make 14 in the final frame as he improved to 15-10-5. He has now allowed two or fewer goals in 11 consecutive games and 13 in total since Jan. 19.

McKechney’s goal came on the power play at 5:54 of the second period, while Tschumi doubled the Colgate lead with his first collegiate goal 3:05 into the third. They both beat RPI’s Linden Marshall, who made 30 stops in the contest but finishes the season with a 5-20-2 mark.
