The College Hockey America tournament will return to Kearney, Neb., in 2004.
The Grand Island (Neb.) Independent reported that the league’s athletic directors voted unanimously to hold the tournament at the Tri-City Arena for the second consecutive season.
The 2003 tournament drew 7,346 fans. Both conference and city officials say that needs to increase.
Joe Delich, the CHA tournament liason, said the conference would like to see around 13,000 tickets sold.
Greg Shea, representing the organizers in Kearney, told the newspaper their goal would be between 13,000 and 15,000 tickets.
The agreement includes an option to bring the tournament back to Kearney in 2005.
