Another Monday, and another weekend passed with no hockey for the the ECAC East and NESCAC. Hang in there – games start this weekend!
Here at USCHO, we’re happy about that. The Division III Men’s Poll will be more meaningful once all the teams have actually played games. It’s a fine line for us here – we can’t wait until the middle of November for our first regular season poll. By the time next week’s poll comes out (the first poll where everyone has played at least one game) Oswego will have played 10 games, a full 40% of its schedule. It would be unfair to the teams that started in mid-October to wait that long. We arrived at the date of 11/6 for the first regular season poll because by then, the majority of teams had played a couple of games. Not perfect, but a good compromise.
But finally, the puck drops everywhere this weekend.
