RIT has had a playful demeanor throughout the NCAA tournament, and it was on display again today in the Tigers’ press conference. From talk about goaltender Jared DeMichiel’s striped protective cup (“I’m a Tiger through and through”) to his reponse to a question about being the underdog (“Underdog, overdog, Snoop Dog, they can call us whatever they want”), the Tigers looked unfazed at being at the center of the college hockey world.
DeMichiel is definitely a ringleader, but he and his teammates said that when they hit the ice, it’s all buisness.
“Jared’s done a good job of keeping us loose,” said senior captain Dan Ringwald. “But when it’s game time he focuses in and that sets the example for the rest of us.”
