With Over 100,000 Tickets Gone, Michigan Halts Sales for Outdoor Game

With ticket sales cracking the 100,000 mark, Michigan has suspended the public sale for next season’s game against Michigan State at Michigan Stadium.

The Big Chill at the Big House on Dec. 11 has sold more than 100,000 tickets, the school announced Thursday. The remaining tickets have been held for students.

Season student tickets for football and hockey include a ticket to the outdoor hockey game. Those renewing general public football season tickets also have a chance to buy tickets for the hockey game, which is expected to shatter the world record for hockey attendance.

The record stands at 74,554 from a game between Michigan and Michigan State at Spartan Stadium in East Lansing, Mich., on Oct. 6, 2001.

Michigan has started a waiting list for tickets. To be included, e-mail [email protected] or call 734-764-0247 or 866-296-6849.
