Eric Rud is returning to Colorado College after a seven-year absence after being named the Tigers’ new assistant coach Wednesday.
“We are very excited that Eric is returning to Colorado College and joining our staff,” CC head coach Scott Owens said in a statement. “He brings great hockey knowledge and has a positive way of connecting with players. His track record here previously, combined with the experience and success he accumulated at St. Cloud and (United States Hockey League’s) Green Bay (Gamblers), makes him a perfect addition to our staff.”
Rud spent five seasons as an assistant at SCSU and last year to Green Bay to the Clark Cup finals. He began his coaching career with the Tigers in 2004-05, a year marked with a Frozen Four appearance.
“We had so much fun that year,” Rud added. “I’m looking really forward to putting that staff back together again.”
Rud starred for the Tigers from 1993-97 and is part of the 100-point club, tallying 112 points over his college career.
