Rochester Institute of Technology has announced that Chelsea Walkland will join the women’s hockey staff as an assistant coach for the 2011-12 season.
“I’m excited that Chelsea is joining our hockey program this year,” said RIT head coach Scott McDonald in a statement. “I’ve followed Chelsea’s playing career for a number of years during her time with the Rochester Edge program and Division I women’s hockey team at Robert Morris University.”
Walkland played four seasons (2006-2010) at Robert Morris and played in a program-record 140 career games, recording 41 career points (14 goals, 27 assists), while serving as an assistant captain during her junior and senior seasons.
