My selections went 6-1-1 (.812) last week, which leaves me at 9-2-2 (.833) so far for the season. Then again, it’s a long season.
Friday, Nov. 16-17
Hobart at Nazareth
The Statesmen (4-0-2 overall, 1-0-1 ECAC West) are probably still a little too strong for the nascent Golden Flyers (2-5, 0-3), who have lost four straight. Look for Hobart, which has two wins sandwiched around two ties in its last four outings, to register a sweep. Hobart 4-2, 5-2
Elmira at Utica
Utica (4-1, 2-1) suffered its first loss of the season last week, albeit by one goal, but still has a lot of firepower. Elmira (3-2, 1-1) has rebounded nicely from a season-opening shellacking against Oswego, and won a pair of one-goal, nonconference contests last weekend against Geneseo and Brockport. Utica 7-4. Elmira, 4-3
Friday, Nov. 16
Neumann at Salve Regina
The Knights (2-2, 2-2) should best the host Seahawks, who edged Nazareth earlier this fall, but also got blasted by Hobart. Neumann should benefit from playing a pair of one-goal games in a split with Utica last weekend. Neumann 6-2
Saturday, Nov. 17
Morrisville at Manhattanville
The Valiants (2-1-1, 2-1-1) are playing well right now, despite not having their home rink, thanks to Hurricane Sandy. Manhattanville has won two straight, and is also atop the league standings. Expect more success against winless Morrisville. Manhattanville, 4-1
