The Prudential Center in Newark, N.J., will host the inaugural Liberty Hockey Invitational October 25-26, 2013.
The two-day, four game tournament at the home of the NHL’s New Jersey Devils has Princeton, Yale, Brown and Dartmouth competing for the Liberty Trophy.
Over the next three years, the tournament will feature Princeton and Yale, who will be staples of the event, along with invitational spots from Hockey East teams Maine, Massachusetts, Massachusetts-Lowell, Merrimack and Vermont.
“My players, staff and I are looking forward to being a part of a first-rate experience in the Liberty Hockey Invitational,” said Princeton coach Bob Prier in a statement. “We’re thrilled to be a part of this annual tournament to be played at the Prudential Center. We hope the fans and alums in the metropolitan area are as excited as we are and come out to cheer us on in October at the Rock.”
