Trouba one and done at Michigan with Winnipeg contract

The Winnipeg Jets announced Tuesday they have signed Michigan freshman defenseman Jacob Trouba to an undisclosed contract.

Trouba played 37 games with the Wolverines during the 2012-13 season and recorded 29 points on 12 goals and 17 assists with 88 penalty minutes. He was named to the CCHA All-Rookie Team and earned best offensive defenseman honors.

Trouba, a member of the United States’ World Junior Championship-winning team in January, was drafted by the Jets in the first round (ninth overall) in the 2012 NHL draft.
