Former Ohio State coach Mark Osiecki will coach the United States at the 2015 World Junior Championship, USA Hockey announced Wednesday.
Osiecki, who also has been an assistant coach at Wisconsin and North Dakota, has been an assistant on three World Junior teams, winning gold in 2010 and 2013 and a bronze in 2011.
He is in his first season at Ohio State as an assistant coach for the AHL’s Rockford IceHogs.
Vermont assistant Kevin Patrick, former Wisconsin player Don Granato, former New Hampshire goalie Mike Ayers and former Lake Superior State and Michigan State player Adam Nightingale are also part of the coaching staff.
The tournament will take place in Toronto and Montreal from Dec. 26 to Jan. 5, 2015.
