Former Middlebury captain Sara Ugalde has been named an as assistant coach for Colby.
Ugalde takes over for Steph Moberg, who was recently hired as Castleton’s head coach.
“Sara comes to us with an excellent hockey background and an eagerness to learn and develop as a coach,” Colby head coach Mallory Michaeles said in a statement. “In addition, she can directly relate to the demands placed on our student-athletes. Sara will be a great addition to our program.”
Ugalde led Middlebury to NESCAC titles in 2011 and 2012 and the league final in 2013. She finished her career with 40 goals and 42 assists for 82 points with the Panthers, graduating in 2014.
