The NCAA Division III women’s national tournament is set as the eight teams selected for the event were announced Monday morning.
Five of the teams received automatic qualification berths as winners of their conference championship and the other three were selected from Pool C, which consists of independent schools and schools from automatic-qualifying conferences that were not the conference champion.
Teams that earned auto-bids include Norwich (ECAC East), Plattsburgh (ECAC West), St. Thomas (MIAC), Trinity (NESCAC) and Lake Forest (NCHA).
The three at-large selections are Elmira, Middlebury and Wisconsin-River Falls.
Four first-round games will be played at campus sites March 13-14. The highest-seeded team advancing from the first round will host the semifinals March 20 and the third-place game and final on March 21.
