Big Ten associate commissioner Jennifer Heppel has been appointed as the Patriot League’s new executive director, the conference announced Monday.
She joins the Patriot League after working the past five years for the Big Ten, including the last two for the league’s hockey conference.
A Big Ten spokesperson said how Heppel will be replaced in overseeing the hockey league has not been determined.
Heppel, who played hockey at Wesleyan in Middletown, Conn., served on the boards of the Hockey Commissioners Association and College Hockey Inc.
