Former Bowling Green forward Greg Parks passed away Tuesday in his hometown of Edmonton, Alberta.
Parks was only 48 years old. The cause of death was not immediately known.
Parks played four years for the Falcons from 1985 to 1989 and recorded 101 goals and 139 assists for 240 points in 178 games – good for fourth all-time at BGSU.
After playing at Bowling Green, Parks played 14 seasons in the pro ranks, including scoring a goal and adding two assists in 23 games with the New York Islanders.
He played the bulk of his career in Europe and also skated a season in Japan before retiring in 2004. Recently, Parks had been coaching in the Alberta Junior Hockey League.
