Matthew and I picked the games the same last weekend, and it didn’t go so great for us. We went 4-3-1 (.562). On the year, i am 60-41-18 (.579) while Matthew is 50-51-18 (.495). We have some interesting league battles, so let’s see how we do.
Jan. 13-14
Omaha at Colorado College
Candace: CC has actually looked a little like the Tigers of old of late. CC has also caused Omaha fits. I think a split is likely. Colorado College 2-1, Omaha 3-1
Matthew: UNO’s a better team on the road and will be looking to get past what happened last weekend at home against North Dakota, but CC’s on a roll right now. Tough series to pick. Colorado College 3-2, Omaha 3-2
St. Cloud State at No. 3 Minnesota-Duluth
Candace: St. Cloud is struggling mightily of late. Minnesota-Duluth hasn’t exactly lit the world on fire either, but I think the Bulldogs get on track at home. Minnesota-Duluth 3-2, 4-2
Matthew: St. Cloud needs to get back on the horse pretty soon here, but I don’t know how much the Huskies will get out of this weekend. Minnesota-Duluth 3-2, 3-1
Miami at No. 7 North Dakota
Candace: The RedHawks have started the second half well, but North Dakota has looked fierce as well. I’m going with a North Dakota sweep. North Dakota 3-2, 4-2
Matthew: With the way Miami has been playing really ever since around Thanksgiving, I like the RedHawks to get a split here. North Dakota 4-1, Miami 3-2
No. 1 Denver at No. 14 Western Michigan
Candace: The last time Denver got to No. 1 in the polls, the Pios promptly tied Miami twice. A split in this seems likely. Denver 2-1, Western Michigan 2-1
Matthew: I’ve got Western taking one of these games, but it’s tough to tell which one. Denver 3-2, Western Michigan 4-2
