Here’s a look at the games set for this weekend in ECAC Hockey. All start at 7 p.m. unless otherwise noted.
Last week: 5-6
Overall: 61-50-2
Dartmouth at Brown
The Bears are virtually guaranteed to be heading on the road for the playoffs, while Dartmouth still has a chance at home ice in the first round. Brown’s only win of the second half came in a 4-3 overtime decision over the Big Green last month, but I don’t see that happening this time around. Dartmouth wins
Princeton at Rensselaer
RPI has been a little better in the second half, but Princeton in heading into the final two weekends of the season on a six-game unbeaten streak. Princeton wins
Cornell at St. Lawrence
Like Princeton, the Big Red are on an impressive run over the last few weeks, while St. Lawrence has lost two games in a row. I’m riding with the hot hand in this matchup. Cornell wins
Quinnipiac at Union
The Dutchmen got good news this week, as it looks like starting goalie Alex Sakellaropoulos should be back for this weekend for the first time since Jan. 28. The Bobcats haven’t gotten a ton of scoring from their forwards, and that might be a problem against a team that has one of the top lines in the nation. Union wins
Harvard at Yale
Yale has played better in the second half, but I think the Crimson are simply too deep for the Bulldogs to matchup with. Harvard wins
Colgate at Clarkson, 8:30 p.m.
Colgate is coming off a four-point weekend, but wins as a whole have been hard to come by this year. The Golden Knights have been inconsistent, but Clarkson should be able to put together enough offense for the win. Clarkson wins
Saturday, Feb. 18
Harvard at Brown
The Crimson’s power play is ranked fifth in the country, while Brown struggles on special teams. Harvard shouldn’t have much of a problem against the Bears. Harvard wins
Cornell at Clarkson
These are two heavy-hitting teams, but I think the Big Red have a little more spend and an edge in goal as well. Cornell wins
Princeton at Union
This might be the night where the Tigers’ unbeaten streak comes to an end. Union is a tough opponent and I’m not sure Princeton has the scoring depth to matchup with the Dutchmen. Union wins
Dartmouth at Yale
I don’t see a lot separating the Big Green and Bulldogs, but I’ll give a slight edge to the home team. Yale wins
Colgate at St. Lawrence
The Raiders have struggled to score for much of the year, and I don’t see that getting any easier against goalie Kyle Hayton and the Saints defense. St. Lawrence wins
Quinnipiac at Rensselaer
Chase Perry has played better in net lately for RPI, and that might give the Engineers a chance at stealing this game. Rensselaer wins
