Canisius junior forward Dylan McLaughlin has been suspended one game by Atlantic Hockey for one game.
McLaughlin was whistled for an elbowing minor penalty in the third period of Canisius’ 3-2 win over Army West Point on Nov. 25.
The penalty was looked at further by Atlantic Hockey league officials Monday afternoon and it was determined that the on-ice officials did not make the right call on the ice. In reviewing the play, it was evident that McLaughlin made contact with the Army player’s head and thus, a major penalty for contact to the head should have been the call.
McLaughlin will be unavailable when Canisius plays Clarkson on Saturday, Dec. 2.
