It will be a quiet weekend in the ECAC as Dartmouth is the lone team in action this weekend as the Big Green travel to Denver for a weekend set with the Pioneers.
Last time: 7-6-1
Overall: 34-22-3
Friday, Dec. 15 and Saturday, Dec. 16
Dartmouth at Denver, 9:05 p.m.
You never know what you will get with the Big Green from weekend-to-weekend. They have shown some flashes early on with wins against Yale and Brown and have lost a few one-goal games that could have gone their way. You can throw in that scoreless tie with Quinnipiac in there too. Then you have games against Harvard and Quinnipiac where they were blown out.
It’s hard to say the Pioneers are struggling as the No. 2 in the nation, but they are coming off back-to-back ties with rival Colorado College. So there may not be a better time to face Denver at the end of the first half of the season. The key for the Big Green is to stay out of the penalty box as the Pioneers are at 25.4 percent and the Big Green penalty kill is 32nd in the nation at 81 percent.
I think we may see both Dartmouth teams this weekend. Friday they will keep it close, but Denver wins 3-1. On Saturday, Denver will be ready and defeat the Big Green 6-1.
