Massachusetts has added graduate transfer Jacob Pritchard to its roster for the 2018-19 season.
The forward, who is eligible immediately, posted 20-point seasons in each of his three years at St. Lawrence.
“We are extremely excited to add a proven offensive threat in Jacob Pritchard to our maturing hockey team,” said UMass coach Greg Carvel in a statement. “On a promising young and developing team, Jake will provide tremendous leadership along with consistent offense. Having originally recruited him to and coaching him during his freshman year at St. Lawrence, I know firsthand the quality of the player on the ice and the genuine character he will bring to our culture. I could not be more excited about Jake joining our team or the potential of this year’s Minutemen squad.”
Over three seasons with the Saints, Pritchard played 96 games and totaled 63 career points on 27 goals and 36 assists. He tied for second on the squad in scoring in 2017-18 with 20 points (nine goals, 11 assists) over 29 games, which included 16 points in 20 ECAC Hockey games.
A 2017-18 ECAC All-Academic Team member, Pritchard earned his bachelor’s degree from St. Lawrence in economics, minoring in statistics and sports studies and exercise science.
