Providence’s Duhaime gives up senior season with Friars, inks deal with Wild
Providence junior forward Brandon Duhaime has signed a two-year, entry-level contract with the Minnesota Wild, forgoing his final year of collegiate eligibility.Duhaime will report to the AHL’s Iowa Wild (AHL) on an amateur tryout for the remainder of this season, and his contract will start with the 2019-20 season.This season, Duhaime recorded career-highs in games played (42), goals (11), assists (23), points (34), shots (101), plus-minus (plus-15) and game-winning goals (3). He tallied five points in three NCAA tournament games and boasted 11 multi-point games this season. Duhaime also led the Friars in faceoff percentage (.595) and penalty minutes (53).Selected by the Wild in the fourth round (106th overall) of the 2016 NHL Draft, Duhaime totaled 22 goals and 72 points with a plus-18 rating in 117 games with the Friars.
