Merrimack jumped in front of No. 2 Michigan 2-1 after one period Friday night, but the Wolverines scored a pair of goals in the second period and downed the Warriors 4-2 in the Johnson Nissan Classic.
Senior forward Josh Langfeld posted his second multi-point game of the season with a goal and two assists. He scored Michigan’s first goal, in the first period.
Merrimack’s Alex Sikatchev and Joe Gray scored around Langfeld’s goal in the first period.
Mark Kosick and Andy Hilbert scored in the second half of the second period to give Michigan a 3-2 lead after 40 minutes.
John Shouneyia added an insurance goal in the third period for the Wolverines.
Josh Blackburn made 18 saves in the victory. Merrimack’s Tom Welby stopped 30 shots.
