Third-period goals by Jeff Finger and Brandon Sampair helped St. Cloud State overcome a two-goal deficit and tie Ferris State 3-3 on Saturday at the National Hockey Center.
Rob Collins, Kevin Swider and Rob Collins scored for the Bulldogs (0-1-1), who took a 3-1 lead midway through the second period.
But the Huskies (1-0-1) responded, with Sampair’s second goal of the night coming with less than five minutes remaining in the third.
St. Cloud outshot Ferris State 46-30. Scott Meyer made 27 saves for the Huskies. Phil Osaer made 35 saves in the first 52 minutes of the game. Vince Owen, who came on in relief, made eight saves and was credited with the tie.
