Plattsburgh got back on track with a 6-1 win over Norwich in the consolation game of the PrimeLink Great Northern Shootout.
Plattsburgh jumped on the board early when Guy Come skated in on the right wing and wristed a shot to the left side of the net just 1:49 into the contest. The Cardinals took a 2-0 lead with a power-play goal as Jason Kilcan put home a rebound from the slot following a shot from Bryan Murray.
Norwich cut the lead in half with 4:47 left in the first period as Keith Aucoin scored with a slap shot from the left wing. Plattsburgh took a 3-1 lead in the second period when Brendon Hodge rifled a shot to the top corner from the right wing. The power-play goal came immdiately following an Aucoin breakaway that was stopped by Plattsburgh netminder Niklas Sundberg.
The Cards took a 4-1 lead with a four-on-four goal as Brian Toussaint made a great pass across the crease to Murray, who tipped the shot into the net.
The lead grew to 5-1 with 36 seconds left in the second period when Mark Coletta deflected in a great crossing pass from Toussaint. Murray added an empty netter to close out the scoring.
Sundberg made 31 saves in goal for Plattsburgh, while Randy Hevey and Ziga Ivanic combined to make 16 saves for Norwich.
