Fifteen different players combined to produce all 15 points in Bemidji State’s 3-2 win over No. 18 Ferris State in the opening game of the Mariucci Classic on Friday.
Former Minnesota player Drew Fisher scored the game-winning goal for the Beavers (6-10-1); it was his first goal of the season.
The Bulldogs (9-8-3) outshot the Beavers 37-22 but Bemidji State goaltender Dan Bakala was equal to the task in turning aside 35 Ferris State attempts.
Bulldogs backup goaltender Taylor Nelson got the call to face the Beavers and made 12 saves in the second period alone among his 19 for the game.
