Matt Weninger made 48 saves, backstopping St. Lawrence’s 2-1 upset victory over Princeton on Sunday in the deciding game of a best-of-three ECAC Hockey first-round series.
Weninger stopped 23 of the 24 shots he faced in the third period as the Tigers tried to rally from a 2-0 deficit.
Greg Carey and Kyle Essery scored first-period goals for the Saints (12-20-5).
Derrick Pallis scored a third-period power-play goal for the Tigers (17-13-2).
