PRINCETON, N.J. — Mel Desrochers scored a goal and added two assists, and Rylee Smith and Alex Moore tallied two assists each to lead St. Lawrence to a 4-1 victory over Princeton on Saturday.

The Saints scored just 1:29 into the game, as Abbey McRae battled for a loose puck in the goal crease and poked it home.

Princeton’s Olivia Mucha knotted the game 1-1 at 8:26, as Cassidy Tucker and Sally Butler dug the puck from the corner to feed Mucha for her fifth goal of the year. But two late-period penalties proved to be costly for the Tigers, as Desrochers tallied the game winner for the Saints on the power play at 18:16 of the first.

The Saints extended their lead twice in the final two stanzas, as Kayla Raniwsky tallied her fourth of the year from Desrochers and Dominique Korakianitis, and Brooke Webster tallied her fifth of the year from Desrochers and Smith, as the Saints’ converted on their seventh power play of the game.

Carmen MacDonald stopped 27 of 28 shots to earn her sixth victory of the season. Kimberly Newell made 27 saves for Princeton.
