DULUTH, Minn. — Jonny Brodzinski scored a pair of third-period goals as No. 2 St. Cloud State broke a tie for a 4-2 victory Friday over No. 20 Minnesota-Duluth.
Brodzinski gave the Huskies a 3-2 lead with 5:31 remaining, then scored into an empty net in the final minute for St. Cloud State (10-1-2, 5-1-1 NCHC), which moved into first place in the NCHC.
Ryan Faragher made 36 saves for the Huskies, who were outshot 38-19.
Nic Dowd and Kalle Kossila also scored for the Huskies, who rallied from a goal down in both the first and second periods.
Caleb Herbert and Justin Crandall had goals for Minnesota-Duluth (6-6-1, 2-3), while Matt McNeely allowed three goals on 18 shots.
