The Crimson opened the scoring at 13:52, as Brayden Jaw netted the only goal in the first on a blast from the right point for his first goal of the season.
After Jake Horton tallied for the Crimson at 6:52 of the second, the Tigers gained some momentum on the power play as Tommy Davis scored at 10:36, and Joe Grabovski added a goal at 18:16, sending the teams back to the locker room knotted 2-2.
But penalty trouble took the momentum away quickly, as Princeton was penalized for high sticking just 25 seconds into the third. The Crimson scored two power-play goals 5:04 apart, as Malone tallied at 1:35, and Tyler Moy netted the eventual game winner at 6:39.
Aaron Kesselman scored for the Tigers with 3:19 remaining to bring Princeton within one, but the Crimson defense and goaltender Steve Michalek held on for the victory.
Michalek improved to 8-1-2 with 22 saves in the win for Harvard. Colton Phinney make 51 saves for Princeton.
