BURLINGTON, Vt. — Jon Gillies made 29 saves and Noel Acciari netted a goal and an assist as No. 16 Providence beat No. 10 Vermont 3-0 on Monday for the Catamount Cup title.
Shane Luke and Nick Saracino also scored for the Friars (11-6-1).
Mike Santaguida stopped 26 shots for Vermont (14-4-1), which had a seven-game winning streak snapped.
