MINNEAPOLIS — Hudson Fasching scored a pair of first-period goals, and No. 19 Minnesota held off a Northeastern rally for a 4-3 win on Saturday.
The Gophers (2-3) swept the nonconference series from the Huskies (1-4), including a 4-0 win on Friday.
Minnesota opened up a 4-1 lead after one period, with Fasching scoring early and late in the period around Michael Brodzinski and Leon Bristedt goals.
Sam Kurker and Eric Williams scored in the second period to pull Northeastern back into the game, but Minnesota held the Huskies off the scoreboard the rest of the way.
Eric Schierhorn made 25 saves for the Gophers, while Ryan Ruck stopped 28 shots for Northeastern.
