PRINCETON, N.J. — Karlie Lund scored twice and Kimiko Marinacci tallied two assists, as Princeton defeated Colgate, 3-2, on Saturday.

Colgate carried the momentum for most of the first stanza, opening the scoring at 6:23, as Annika Zalewski tallied her fifth goal of the season set up by Bailey Larson. With just 1:12 remaining in the period, however, Lund netted her first of the game on a shot from outside the slot that popped up and over goaltender Ashlynn Rando to send the teams to the locker rooms tied.

The Tigers carried their newly gained energy into the second, as Kelsey Koelzer scored just 39 seconds into the period assisted by Marinacci and Hilary Lloyd. Just 4:06 later, Lund netted her second of the game as her shot bounced around the crease and slid over the goal line as a pile of bodies was pushed into the net.

Colgate pulled to within one at 13:40 of the third, as Shae Labbe took a pass from Olivia Zafuto and Lauren Wildfang, and lifted the puck up and over an outstretched Kimberley Newell glove side.

The Raiders pulled Rando with 2:16 remaining but were unable to generate a scoring chance, as they were held off by the Tigers’ team defensive play.

Rando stopped 31 shots in the contest for ColgateRaiders. Newell finished with 32 saves in the win for PrincetonTigers, which improved to 5-1 overall (3-1 ECAC Hockey).
