GRAND FORKS, N.D. — Austin Poganski scored on a penalty shot in overtime to give No. 4 North Dakota a 2-1 victory over Minnesota-Duluth on Friday.
The Bulldogs’ Carson Soucy was called for tripping 3:19 into the extra session when he dived from the side and took out Poganski’s skates on a rush up ice.
Poganski backhanded the penalty shot past Minnesota-Duluth goaltender Kasimir Kaskisuo for the win.

Coltyn Sanderson also scored for North Dakota (23-5-3, 14-4-1 NCHC), which stayed in a tie for first place with St. Cloud State.
Dominic Toninato’s power-play goal put the Bulldogs (11-13-5, 7-9-3) ahead in the first period.
Cam Johnson stopped 32 shots for the Fighting Hawks, while Kaskisuo made 23 saves.
