EAST LANSING, Mich. — Despite getting outshot 37-17, No. 19 Michigan (13-13-3, 8-10-3-2 Big Ten) was able to pull out a shootout win over Michigan State (10-17-2, 4-13-2-1 Big Ten) at Clarence “Biggie” Munn Ice Arena.
Tony Calderone scored the lone goal in the shootout to give the Wolverines the shootout point in the league standings.
Michigan’s Quinn Hughes scored the game’s first goal in the second period and Michigan State’s Carson Gatt added a goal late in the second period.
Both goalies played the entire game. Spartans goalie John Lethemon had 37 saves while Wolverine goalie Hayden Lavigne had 17 saves.
