Matt Tugnutt got the game-winning goal at 2:54 of overtime to give Sacred Heart (9-16-4, 7-12-4 AHC) a 2-1 win over Air Force (15-12-4, 10-10-3 AHC) in a game postponed from Jan. 20 due to a government shutdown.
Sacred Heart’s Marc Johnstone scored his 10th goal of the season on the power play at the 1:47 mark of the first period.
Air Force found the equalizer on Marshall Bowery’s goal at 5:59 of the third period.
Brett Magnus had 23 saves in the win, while Billy Christopoulos made 26 saves in the loss.
Air Force returns home to host Canisius on Feb. 16 and 17, while Sacred Heart hosts Rochester Institute of Technology on Feb. 17 at Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport, Conn., and on Feb. 18 at Ingalls Rink at Yale.
