Anthony Petruzzelli put Vermont on the board 8:13 into the first period and scored the game-tying goal with 29 seconds left in regulation during a Catamounts power play. Ross Colton pulled Vermont within one with his goal at 10:40 of the third period.
A short-handed goal from Zach Solow and a power-play tally from Dylan Sikura over the opening 4:58 of the contest gave Northeastern a 2-1 advantage entering the second period.
Jeremy Davies assisted on both Solow and Sikura’s goals.
Adam Gaudette extended the Huskies’ advantage to 3-1 when he scored a power-play goal 10:19 into the second period off assists from Sikura and Solow.
Stefanos Lekkas made 22 saves for Northeastern. Cayden Primeau made 32 stops for the Catamounts.
