With Omaha in the middle of the logjam for fourth place in the NCHC, they needed to look for a favorable result at the AMSOIL Arena. A four-goal rally after Joey Anderson opened the scoring for UMD enabled the win and Evan Weninger’s 41-save night ensured it. Hunter Sherppard was not substituted and played the entire game before he was pulled in the end for the extra attacker.

Steven Spinner capped off the rally with an empty netter after Tristan Keck made it 3-1 for Omaha at 11:15 of the third period. Dean Stewart had the helper for his second point of the night. The game-winner (2-1) was found at 7:27 of the second period on a 5-on-3 power play converted by Jake Randolph and assisted by Tyler Vesel and Joel Messner. It was Zach Jordan who started the rally for Omaha at 6:43 of the first period when he tied the game at one apiece.

A pair of UMD’s key players combined to open the scoring and give the AMSOIL Arena crowd of 5,287 a celebration. Joey Anderson lit the lamp first once receiving a puck from Riley Tufte and Peter Krieger at 3:24 of the first period.
