ST. CLOUD, Minn. — St. Cloud State fell behind early again, but found a way to come from behind and get a win.

The third-ranked Huskies scored two unanswered goals to top No. 7 Miami 2-1 Saturday at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center.

Saturday’s win was the fourth time this season in which SCSU got a point despite trailing after the first period.

“To beat one of the best teams in the country — they’re so fast and so skilled — it was a huge win for our team,” St. Cloud State forward Jimmy Murray said.

Murray assisted on the game-winner with 9:08 left in the third period. He made a no-look pass from behind the net out to David Morley. Morley turned around and wristed a shot past Miami goaltender Ryan McKay.

“I just grabbed the puck and shot; I had no idea where I was shooting it,” Morley said. “I was able to just grab it, turn around and shoot so I was just hoping for the best.”

The RedHawks took a 1-0 lead with 1:57 left in the first period on a Max Cook goal, but Garrett Milan answered for the Huskies right after the first intermission with a goal to tie the game at the 1:34 mark.

St. Cloud State improved to 6-1-1 overall and 3-1 in the NCHC. Ryan Faragher made 29 saves for the Huskies.

McKay finished with 33 saves for Miami (5-2-1, 2-2 NCHC).
