Brian Herbert recorded a goal and an assist for the second straight night, and goaltender Jamie Holden stopped 27 shots as Quinnipiac earned a hard-fought 3-1 win over Canisius on Saturday night at the Northford Ice Pavilion.<\/p>\n
Ryan Corcoran opened the scoring for Canisius with a shorthanded goal at 4:01 of the first period. However, that would be the only blemish against Holden’s ledger all night long.<\/p>\n
Quinnipiac tied the game at 10:26 of the middle frame on a tally from Rob Hammel. Herbert then put the Braves ahead with a power-play marker at 17:38.<\/p>\n
Wade Winkler’s first goal of the year late in the third period put the finishing touches on the Quinnipiac win.<\/p>\n
