Amherst held the White Mules in check early on as the game remained scoreless through the first 17:30, until Colby sophomore Christina Dotchin finally cracked the scoring column off a centering pass from junior forward Jill Young.

The hosts added another tally 10:26 into second period when Dotchin fed a wide-open Carrie Swiderski for a wrister in front of the net.

Colby then cemented the win with a trio of goals in the third period. Junior Jill Young ignited the barrage with a goal just 2:46 after the intermission, before Dotchin added her second goal of the game 3:31 later. Sophomore Kate Sweeney then capped the scoring with a nifty feed from first-year Caitlin Krause to set the final score at 5-0.
