Minnesota-Duluth is understandably excited and happy to be in the Frozen Four, not only for the obvious reasons, but because it has become the de facto representative for the state of Minnesota.<\/p>\n
That being said, the Bulldogs don’t feel like they’ve got any added pressure on them.<\/p>\n
“I don’t see it that way,” said goaltender Kenny Reiter. “There’s four good teams in this tournament and we’re comfortable with the support that we’re going to have and hopefully that’s a lot, so we’re just approaching it in a businesslike manner.”<\/p>\n
“We have a great team and really, the pressure is on the Gophers for, no, I’m just kidding,” quipped defenseman Mike Montgomery, referring to the host school. Later on in the press conference, he got more serious on what an honor it is to be the North Star state’s representative.<\/p>\n
“Really, it’s just a big honor for us,” he said. “There’s a lot of good teams playing college hockey in Minnesota this year. For us to be one of the last teams, it’s really an honor and we’re really excited. There’s a lot of guys from the state, from the metro area, and Duluth’s really excited right now too; the entire town is just buzzing.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
