Notre Dame senior Joe Lavin enjoyed the journey to the Frozen Four even more than the rest of his teammates. At least in some ways.<\/p>\n
The Fighting Irish had to navigate through Hockey East, defeating Merrimack and New Hampshire in the hostile environment of the Manchester, N.H., regional.<\/p>\n
But for Lavin, it was home sweet home. Lavin comes from Shrewsbury, Mass., practically next door, especially compared to South Bend, Ind.<\/p>\n
“Obviously for me, that was really exciting,” Lavin said. “I don’t get to play in front of family and friends as much as I would like to. Borrowing tickets from these guys, I had like 35 or 40 people there, so that was obviously the highlight of my weekend.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
