{"id":1877,"date":"2017-12-29T17:29:07","date_gmt":"2017-12-29T23:29:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.uscho.com\/wcha-blog\/?p=1877"},"modified":"2017-12-29T17:29:07","modified_gmt":"2017-12-29T23:29:07","slug":"picking-wcha-dec-29-30","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.uscho.com\/2017\/12\/29\/picking-wcha-dec-29-30\/","title":{"rendered":"Picking the WCHA, Dec. 29-30"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>And we&#8217;re back!<\/p>\n<p>Most of the teams in the WCHA got just one week of break, so it&#8217;ll be a quick turnaround for Bemidji State, Alabama Huntsville, Minnestoa State and Northern Michigan &#8212; all four played the weekend of Dec. 15, and all four are back in action starting tonight for some important conference series.<\/p>\n<p>Lake Superior State, who was also in action the week before Christmas, heads to Pittsburgh to play in the Three Rivers Classic &#8212; another chance to boost the WCHA&#8217;s nonconference record.<\/p>\n<p>How will the games go this week?<\/p>\n<p><b>Alabama Huntsville at Bemidji State<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Beavers are unbeaten in their last five games, and are coming off a sweep of Alaska Anchorage that happened before the break. I like them to keep going here. <\/span><b>Beavers 4-2, 3-1<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Sean: I&#8217;m going to co-sign Jack on this one.<strong> Beavers 4-2, 3-1<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><b>Northern Michigan at Minnesota State<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Mavericks have won four straight, but the Wildcats gave them a great series in their last meeting: They split the series in Marquette, with MSU winning 4-1 before NMU took game two 4-1. I think it\u2019ll be a little harder on the Wildcats in Mankato, but they\u2019ll still find a way to get one win. <\/span><b>Mavericks 4-0, Wildcats 2-1<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Sean: These teams have played entertaining hockey against each other this season. I think this one will follow that trend.\u00a0<strong>Wildcats 3-2 (OT), Mavericks 3-2<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><b>Lake Superior State at Three Rivers Classic<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Lakers take on the host Colonials on Friday before a date with either Providence or Arizona State on Saturday. Seems like Robert Morris has been slightly more consistent than the Lakers, so I\u2019ll pick them today. As for Saturday\u2019s game, I like LSSU to snap their winless streak with a victory over the Sun Devils. <\/span><b>Friday: Colonials 4, Lakers 1; Saturday: Lakers 3, Colonials 1<\/b><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>And we&#8217;re back!
