Morrison will long be remembered by the Michigan faithful for his overtime goal against Colorado College to win the 1996 National Championship.<\/p>\n<p>Morrison was also selected as College Sports Magazine&#8217;s 1995-96 Men&#8217;s Ice Hockey Athlete of the Year, Titan West First Team All-American, NCAA Championship Most Outstanding Player, CCHA Player of the Year, Great Lakes Invitational Most Valuable Player, a finalist for the Hobey Baker Award and was named CCHA Offensive Player of the Week five times last season.<\/p>\n<p>Morrison, a senior this fall, has said he plans to return to Michigan to help the Wolverines defend their title. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Michigan forward Brendan Morrison has been named The Hockey News 1995-96 U.S. College Hockey Player of the Year.
