{"id":23460,"date":"1999-05-14T12:47:42","date_gmt":"1999-05-14T17:47:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.uscho.com\/1999\/05\/14\/fresnos-gadowsky-named-uaf-head-coach\/"},"modified":"2010-08-17T19:54:06","modified_gmt":"2010-08-18T00:54:06","slug":"fresnos-gadowsky-named-uaf-head-coach","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.uscho.com\/1999\/05\/14\/fresnos-gadowsky-named-uaf-head-coach\/","title":{"rendered":"Fresno&#8217;s Gadowsky Named UAF Head Coach"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Guy Gadowsky, head coach and general manager of the West Coast Hockey League&#8217;s Fresno Falcons, was named head coach at Alaska-Fairbanks on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Gadowsky, a former captain at Colorado College, was one of the finalists for the position, and was offered the job after St. Norbert head coach Tim Coghlin turned down UAF&#8217;s offer last month.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I am very pleased with the final outcome of the search,&#8221; said Pitney. &#8220;I know it was frustrating to some that the process was not completed sooner, but I was intent on getting the very best possible person to commit to be UAF&#8217;s next ice hockey coach.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We recognize the integral part that this university and this team should play in the Interior of Alaska. We therefore invite the entire community to join with us in welcoming Coach Gadowsky and his family.
