{"id":23702,"date":"1997-12-19T10:18:12","date_gmt":"1997-12-19T16:18:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.uscho.com\/1997\/12\/19\/three-maine-students-charged\/"},"modified":"2010-08-17T19:54:09","modified_gmt":"2010-08-18T00:54:09","slug":"three-maine-students-charged","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.uscho.com\/1997\/12\/19\/three-maine-students-charged\/","title":{"rendered":"Three Maine Students Charged"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Three members of Maine&#8217;s men&#8217;s hockey team face charges of criminal threatening, and will appear in Bangor District Court on Jan. 16, 1998.<\/p>\n<p>The charges come following a Dec. 14 incident in which one student allegedly made &#8220;reprehensible&#8221; comments, and at least one student may be charged with making racial slurs in violation of Maine&#8217;s Civil Rights Act.<\/p>\n<p>The three players alledgedly involved in a threatening phone call, which included insulting racial language, are 22-year-old junior Bryan Masotta, 22-year-old sophomore Shawn Mansoff, and 23-year-old junior Matthew Oliver.<\/p>\n<p>The three players have been suspended from the hockey team for an indefinite period of time by the team&#8217;s coach, Shawn Walsh.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Three members of Maine&#8217;s men&#8217;s hockey team face charges of criminal threatening, and will appear in Bangor District Court on Jan. 16, 1998.
