Clymer, the top collegiate player taken in the 1997 NHL draft, will be scheduled for surgery in the near future.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Ben has an anterior instability in the shoulder which has not responded to protection from simply wearing a brace,&#8221; said Dr. Dan Buss. &#8220;The success rate of a full recovery from this type of injury [following surgery] is extraordinarily high, and I expect Ben will be able to make a full recovery.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The combination of Clymer&#8217;s season ending injury with the late August signing of defenseman Mike Crowley by the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, leaves Minnesota with only six defensemen on its current roster.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Minnesota sophomore defenseman Ben Clymer will miss the remainder of the 1997-98 season after reinjuring his shoulder Wednesday afternoon in practice.
