Tom Jacobs, the director of championships for the NCAA who oversaw the Division I hockey tournament, is leaving the association this month, according to The NCAA News<\/i>.<\/p>\n
Jacobs will be the general manager of Badger Sports Properties, a division of Learfield Sports that produces broadcasts for the University of Wisconsin.<\/p>\n
Acting as the primary liasion between the NCAA and the hockey tournament, Jacobs supervised the regionals and Frozen Four. He helped oversee a sport which, over the last decade, saw an explosion in popularity and earnings.<\/p>\n
