The contest is the final in the &#8220;Heroes Hat&#8221; series between Quinnipiac and Connecticut.<\/p>\n<p>Quinnipiac established the award last year to honor those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. The &#8220;Heroes Hat&#8221; award remembers firefighter Joseph Mascali of Staten Island, N.Y., father of QU students Chris and Jenn Mascali; and at Connecticut, the award honors Amy Jarret, a flight attendant on downed plane United 175, sister of UConn player Matt Jarret.<\/p>\n<p>The game marks the first Division I hockey contest at Madison Square Garden since Jan. 3, 1977, when Boston University defeated St. Lawrence, 8-5, in the ECAC Holiday Tournament.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Quinnipiac is thrilled to play such a special game at Madison Square Garden. It is a meaningful way for us to remember and recognize the losses we all suffered on September 11,&#8221; said Quinnipiac athletic director Jack McDonald.<\/p>\n<p>Quinnipiac won the first meeting between the two schools this year on Nov. 1, 7-4 at the UConn Ice Arena.<\/p>\n<p>Tickets for the game will be on sale at Madison Square Garden, Quinnipiac University and the University of Connecticut. Tickets will be sold as general admission allowing fans to select their rink-side seats on a first-come, first serve basis. Ticket prices will range from $7 (students) to $25 for adults.
